Chimerism Awareness

My Story

After 9 years of being diagnosed with human Chimerism I finally decided to to go public with having this condition to help prevent others from going undiagnosed like I was for more then half my life. Spreading Human Chimera Awareness, it’s link to autoimmune disease and advocating for body positivity is a personal mission for me. Before I went public there was nearly any information on human Chimerism when Googled, even doctors aren’t always aware of it. My goal is to normalize the condition, due to there only being 100 cases documented in the world today.

A goal of mine someday is to raise funds to open a Foundation called CHIMERA, for people who think they might have Chimerism. Also for people who endure any type of autoimmune disease and physical abnormalities. I want others to have a place to turn to for help and support for their physical, mental, and emotional health. In time, I also hope to help the medical field gather new research about Chimerism.

I hope by sharing my story publicly it can help others not to “judge a book by it’s cover.” Looking through my social media you wouldn’t assume I suffer with any physical challenges, but it doesn’t mean it’s not going on behind closed doors. We all have the choice to choose happiness, keep a positive outlook and push forward regardless of our circumstances, even though it might not be easy. Most of what I choose to share publicly is the positive in my life, not the negative. Hopefully, I can inspire others who have Chimerism, medical conditions, autoimmune issues or any physical differences to know they’re not alone. That they have support, they’re beautiful the way they are, and regardless of their circumstances there’s no limits for them not to try to reach their dreams.
